Agreement to Terms

By accessing and using FizziLabs OCR ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

Service Description

FizziLabs OCR provides optical character recognition (OCR) services that allow users to:

  • Upload documents and images (PDF, PNG, JPEG, AVIF formats)
  • Extract text from uploaded files using AI-powered OCR technology
  • View, search, copy, and download extracted text

The Service is provided "as is" for personal and commercial use. We use third-party services (Mistral AI, Cloudflare) to deliver this functionality.

Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Upload illegal, harmful, or malicious content
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or compromise the Service
  • Use the Service to violate any laws or regulations
  • Upload files containing malware, viruses, or harmful code
  • Abuse the Service through excessive automated requests or DDoS attacks
  • Violate intellectual property rights of others
  • Upload content that infringes on privacy rights (e.g., medical records, personal ID documents without consent)

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to process any files you upload.

Service Limits

  • File Size: Maximum 50 MB per file
  • File Types: PDF, PNG, JPEG, AVIF only
  • Pages: Maximum 1,000 pages per document (Mistral AI limit)
  • Rate Limits: We may throttle excessive usage to maintain service quality

We reserve the right to modify these limits at any time without prior notice.

Privacy & Data Handling

Zero Data Retention:

  • We do NOT store your uploaded files
  • Files are processed in-memory and immediately deleted
  • No databases, no logs of file contents
  • Mistral AI (our OCR provider) also deletes data immediately after processing

Intellectual Property

Your Content: You retain all rights to files you upload. We claim no ownership.

Our Service: The FizziLabs OCR website, code, design, and branding are owned by FizziLabs and protected by copyright laws.

OCR Output: Extracted text belongs to you. You may use it freely.

Third-Party Services

Our Service relies on:

  • Mistral AI: OCR processing provider. Subject to their Terms of Service
  • Cloudflare: Hosting and edge computing. Subject to their Terms

We are not responsible for the actions or policies of these third-party services.

Disclaimers

NO WARRANTY:

  • The Service is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind
  • We do not guarantee accuracy, reliability, or availability
  • OCR results may contain errors - always verify critical information
  • We are not liable for data loss, corruption, or inaccuracies

USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. We recommend verifying OCR results, especially for important documents.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • FizziLabs is NOT liable for any damages arising from use of the Service
  • This includes direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • We are not responsible for data loss, business interruption, or financial losses
  • Total liability shall not exceed $100 USD

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability, so these limits may not apply to you.

California Users

Under California Civil Code Section 1789.3:

  • The Service is provided by FizziLabs

  • California residents may also contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs

Service Availability

We strive for 99%+ uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may suspend or terminate the Service at any time for maintenance, updates, or other reasons.

Termination

We reserve the right to:

  • Suspend or terminate access for violating these Terms
  • Discontinue the Service at any time without notice
  • Modify or change features without prior notification

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FizziLabs from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of California.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last Updated" date indicates the most recent revision. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
